Watson Outdoor Living does land clearing in Sylvania and across Screven County. Sylvania sits on the ridge between the Ogeechee River and the Savannah River, on sandy Coastal Plain ground. Most tracts here run to loblolly pine plantation, hardwood bottoms along the creeks, and open farm field. Land in Screven County closes back in fast once a field or a fence line sits idle. We clear it with a CAT 265 compact track loader and a CAT 308 excavator. The 265 carries a forestry mulcher head and a root rake grapple, and owner Clinton Watson runs it.
Screven County work runs to big timber and big farm ground. We clear hunting tracts and shooting lanes toward Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area on the Savannah River side. On land you want to keep wooded, forestry mulching cuts the underbrush into mulch and leaves good pines standing. We take back pasture grown up in briars and sweetgum, and we cut fence lines clear to the post. Closer to Sylvania we open house lots and yard edges along the US 301 corridor. Debris leaves on a gooseneck equipment trailer or a dump trailer. Estimates are free, so call or text and CJ looks at the ground before he prices the job.

We start with what stays, like a shade tree or a wet hardwood bottom along a creek. Chainsaws drop what we cannot push, and the CAT 308 excavator digs and pushes out the bigger trees. The root rake grapple piles the wood and shakes the dirt back out of the root balls. That leaves a clean pile to burn or load, and clean ground under it.
Stumps come out whole with the excavator, roots and all, and we haul them off. We remove stumps rather than grind them, so nothing is left underground to sink later. That matters on a pasture or a fence line where a post has to go in the ground. Stump removal also clears the way for a barn pad or a driveway.
A lot of it is hunting ground. We open shooting lanes and food plot ground on tracts toward Tuckahoe and Brier Creek. Timberland owners near Millhaven and Hiltonia call after a thinning or a cut to clean up the edges. Brush clearing keeps those edges and the fence lines open once the heavy work is done.
The other half is farm and pasture ground. Fields around Rocky Ford, Newington, and the Ogeechee bottoms grow up in briars and sweetgum. We take that back to grass and pull the fence lines clear so posts and wire can go up. House lots along the US 301 corridor get the same work at a smaller size.
