Watson Outdoor Living does land clearing in Metter, GA, and we work out of Statesboro about 18 miles northeast. That is a short drive, so we can come look at your property soon after you call. Metter sits near the center of Candler County, and most of the ground here is farm and pine land. Expect sandy soil, planted pine rows, and heavy brush along old fence lines. Some jobs are small town lots near the Candler County Courthouse. Others are farm tracts running back to a creek. We run a CAT 265 track loader with a forestry mulcher head and a root rake. A CAT 308 excavator does the heavy pulling.
Metter runs on farming and timber, and the work here reflects that. We clear house lots off Highway 121 and Highway 46. We open up pasture and cut fence lines on tracts out toward Pulaski and Excelsior. We take out pines and hardwoods that crowd a driveway or a shop. Drivers on I-16 pass pine rows on both sides at exit 104. Guido Gardens sits a couple of miles north of that exit on Lewis Street. Sandy ground drains well, but it also lets roots run wide. We dig stumps out with the excavator, roots and all. CJ Watson runs the machines himself.

Every property is different, so we look at yours before we quote it. Some Metter lots are half an acre behind a house. Others run 20 acres of planted pine. We mark what stays and what goes, and shade trees near the house often stay. Then we pick the tool. Forestry mulching suits underbrush and small pines. The mulcher head turns that growth into a layer of chips on the ground.
Heavier growth needs the excavator. We push over larger trees and pull the root balls out of the ground. The root rake sorts wood from dirt, so your topsoil stays on the property. Debris loads onto the dump trailer or gooseneck and leaves the site. Our stump removal takes the whole stump and its roots. On a farm tract we usually cut the fence lines back first, which gives a tractor room again.
We cover Metter and the rest of Candler County from our Statesboro base. That includes downtown, the South Metter Residential Historic District, and lots off South Lewis Street near exit 104. It runs west on Highway 46 and north past Willow Lake on Highway 23. Highway 46 also carries us east through Pulaski, and we work tracts out toward Excelsior. Most of the county is a half hour drive or less for us.
Bigger tracts often need more than cutting. Old field roads wash out, and low spots hold water after a hard rain. We follow the clearing with grading when a site needs it leveled or shaped. Call or text (912) 712-6034 and we will set a time to come look. Estimates are free.
