Watson Outdoor Living handles land clearing in Rincon, GA. Effingham County is filling in fast, and much of that new ground was pine woods a few years back. Buyers pick up an acre or two off Highway 21 and find it packed with young pine, sweetgum, and briars. You cannot set a house pad, a shop, or a pasture until that comes off. We bring a CAT 265 compact track loader with a forestry mulcher head and a CAT 308 excavator. Trees come down and stumps come out. The debris loads on our trailer and leaves the property.
Rincon sits about 18 miles up Highway 21 from Savannah, and the ground here changes block to block. Springfield sits about 7 miles the other way up the same road. Higher spots near Lost Plantation and Silverwood Plantation run to dry sand, and those lots clear clean. Drop toward Ebenezer Creek and the pine flatwoods stay soft, with cypress and gum down in the bottoms. Same lot size, two very different jobs. Wet ground holds a machine, so we time that work for a dry stretch. CJ Watson comes out to Rincon, looks over the lot, and tells you what it needs. Estimates are free. Call or text (912) 712-6034 to set up a time.

We look over the lot with you first and mark what stays. A big oak by the house, the tree line at the back, the path for the drive. Then the CAT 265 goes in with the mulcher head. It cuts standing brush, saplings, and small pine into chips right where they stood. That chip layer stays on the dirt and holds it down until you build.
Bigger timber gets felled with a saw or pushed over with the CAT 308 excavator. We dig the stumps out with the excavator, roots and all. They load on the trailer and go. On a light acre of brush and saplings, forestry mulching alone can do it in a day. Thick pine with big stump removal takes longer.
Effingham County has grown more than 40 percent since 2010, and most of it landed near Highway 21. New rooftops keep pushing out Fort Howard Road, McCall Road, and Goshen Road. A lot of that land was planted pine or old cutover. You get rows of pine on top and years of briars underneath. Rincon Elementary sits on Fort Howard Road, and homes keep going up around it.
Sandy ridges here clear clean and drain well. The low flatwoods hold water after a rain and stay soft for weeks. We plan around that and pick our tracks. Once the wood is off, the excavator can shape the lot and set the fall away from the house. That grading and leveling is easier while the machines are already sitting there.
